It is my honour to introduce our sample development procedure as below,and in fact you can see clearly whole production schedule too.
1) Create 1st sample,it could be based on your design,or based on my suggested fabric Usually we will do this 1st sample by all correct fabric but similar colors,all correct trims,and if there's print involve,will do correct print
And for spec,better you give initial specification otherwise we will give suggested spec size chart
My other customer used to show my 1st sample to final user as fitting,presentation etc,because we have enough confidence on our 1st sample could hit 80-90% they are looking for
The lead time of 1st sample is around 7-15 days depend on how complicate it is You can give a group of developing or single by single
When i send sample i used to put a couple of fabric and trims as recommending with color card.because sometimes buyer's target quantity is less than dying factory's minimum,that color card does help to solve this issue
The sample is total free while courier charge will be on you
2) Creating 2nd sample.Based on your comments including shape,spec,everything,we will do 2nd sample.That one we have confidence to be 90-100% as you are seeking
Lead time of 2nd sample will be 7-10 days,Total free of charge while courier charge on customer
3) During above 2 kinds of sample,we should have done lab dip,(for print is strike off),do label samples and have got approval by that time
The bulk fabric and trim should be ready after 2nd samples approved 4)We will create pre production samples by bulk fabric,trims,labels.
Lead time is 7 days.Sample is total free while courier charge on customer 5)After pre production sample approved,we will cut and sewn job
Lead time is 25 days
6) The shipment sample will be sent around 10 days before production finished with correct packing,tags,sticker everything.The shipment sample will be charge as FOB cost
7) We will show our inspection report once production done.After getting approval of shipment sample and inspection report.cargo will be sent to shipping forward--the job done
So by general speaking,time is around 60 days plus courier time and lead time of customer comments
I think above is quite normal procedure and hope it will help to your more understanding
